Steve Sabins – Founder and Executive Director

Steve has been in the Utah assisted living industry since 1998 when Bel Aire built its first facility. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in financial planning & counseling, and an MBA in finance. He is passionate about the assisted living industry and through his participation in the Utah Assisted Living Association and has attempted to raise building and caregiving standards industry-wide. 

Steve loves to serve in leadership roles. He has served on the Utah Assisted Living Association board of directors since 2004, including two stints as Association president. Steve also served two four year 

terms on the governor appointed State of Utah Health Facilities Committee, which he chaired from 2015 to 2018. 

Steve is also a member and past-president of the Provo Rotary Club affiliated with Rotary International. 

When Steve is not working he loves to spend time with his family, cook Sunday dinners, run triathlons, play golf, and read good books. He is originally from Southern California. He and his wife Allison, have seven terrific children. 

Two things you might not know about Steve are that he is a former LDS Stake President and he ran the decathlon in college at BYU.

 

Jay Morgan – Public Relations Manager

Jay has been in the Senior Care industry for 25 years.  Jay serves as our Public Relations Manager. He graduated from BYU. with a bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation and minor in Gerontology.  Jay owned and operated his own Adult Day Care in Orem for 18 years, specializing in Alzheimer’s care. He transitioned to Assisted Living in 2016 as Administrator for two other communities before landing at Bel Aire Senior Living. He served as Administrator at Bel Aire for 3 years before becoming our Public Relations Manager.

Jay and his wife, Amy, are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary in 2022 and have 3 children and 1 grandson, thus far. They enjoy spending family time together golfing, skiing and traveling.  An interesting thing about Jay is, he has lived abroad in Southeast Asia teaching English as a second language.

 

Sherry Hornbuckle – Administrator

Sherry has worked in the senior healthcare industry for 15 years. She is our Administrator here at Bel Aire.  Sherry  was born in Redondo Beach, Calif. She graduated from Provo High School and attended Utah Valley Technical College majoring in American Sign Language and Childhood Special Education. Sherry became a CNA at the young age of forty five to take better care of her aging mother. After her passing she continued with her health care career working in home health and hospice. She came to BelAire in 2009 as a CNA and worked her way up to assistant administrator. Sherry left BelAire in 2019 to take a position as a Regional Administrator and also manage other small assisted living facilities in Utah county. Sherry returned to BelAire in October 2021 as administrator and couldn’t be happier. She loves the opportunities she has to make a difference in the lives of our residents and their families . Sherry is also grateful for the opportunity to mentor our staff of caregivers as they begin their journey into a health care career. Sherry has three teenage grandchildren. And she and her husband love riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles and going golfing every chance they get.

 

Lindsey Long – Care Coordinator

Lindsey, our Care Coordinator, has been in the senior healthcare industry for 10 years. She loves working at Bel Aire Senior Living and enjoys getting to know our residents and their families. Lindsey has an infectious laugh and really makes our community shine with joy and love.  Growing up, Lindsey knew she wanted a career where she could make a difference in peoples lives.  She has been a CNA since 2012 and loves interacting with and caring for the elderly.

She grew up in San Pete county. While in school she was involved in FFA, cheerleading, wrestling and band. She has always had a love of music and loved playing the saxophone in the pep and concert bands in high school. Lindsey and her husband have been married for 5 years and have 2 amazing children. She recently received her Assisted Living Administrator certificate and is excited for that new opportunity in the future.

 

Amanda Swindle – CNA Scheduling Supervisor

Amanda has worked in the senior health care industry for 18 years, 9 of which have been here at Bel Aire. She is our CNA Scheduling Supervisor and is dedicated and well versed in the internal operations of our community. Amanda started her career as a CNA wanting to work with babies in labor and delivery but soon discovered her love for the elderly. She has worked as a CNA in many different settings including hospital, skilled nursing and Assisted Living.  Amanda adds a lot of knowledge and expertise in the training of our newer staff members.  She recently received her Assisted Living Administrator certificate and hopes to run a facility one day. She also wants to go to school to become a registered nurse.  She and her husband have three children with whom they love to spend time camping, hunting, and fishing. She also enjoys running in her free time.

 

Andrea Lewis – Life Enrichment Coordinator

Andrea has worked with seniors in long-term care and assisted living for the past 13 years.  She specifically has worked in Dementia care and behavioral units.  She enjoys working to provide sensory stimulation, memory recall, music, physical activities along with outings and scenic bus adventures.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Leisure Services and Recreation from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington and a Therapeutic Recreation Technician Certification in May 2014.

Andrea enjoys working with people, encouraging positive outcomes and providing opportunities to succeed.  She looks forward to meeting the family members of our residents.  She also enjoys having grandchildren recitals, singing and any other talents families would like to share with all our residents at Bel Aire Senior Living.

Two things you may not know about Andrea is that she served an LDS mission in Hamburg, West Germany and she went on an Alaskan Quilting Cruise completing a 3D quilt.

Andrea is raising four young grandchildren who love to come and visit all of the grandmas and grandpas.  She enjoys connecting people of different generations for their benefit and enjoyment.

Rick Lopez – Maintenance Director

Rick is our Maintenance Manager with 18 years experience in his field.  He is “Mr. Handyman” with all aspects of keeping the building maintained and clean. Rick comes from a long back ground in building maintenance (has done commercial maintenance and residential maintenance). He is very passionate about his work and loves to help others and treats everyone with kindness and respect. Rick is married and has five sons.  He loves spending time with his family camping, fishing, and hiking in the great outdoors of Utah.  We are extremely pleased to have him as part of our Bel Aire management team.

 

John Freeze – Chief Financial Officer

John has 10 years of experience as the CFO of psychiatric hospitals in Missouri, Indiana, and Utah. He was the CFO of 2 large retirement communities in Indiana for over 16 years.

John and his wife Ann moved to Utah in 2010 and they have two daughters and one grandson. They love to spend as much time as possible with their grandson, Frank who is almost 4 years old. Ann teaches Special Education in American Fork.
