Steve Sabins – Founder and Executive Director

Steve has been in the Utah assisted living industry since 1998 when Bel Aire built its first facility. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in financial planning & counseling, and an MBA in finance. He is passionate about the assisted living industry and through his participation in the Utah Assisted Living Association as has attempted to raise building and caregiving standards industry-wide.

Steve loves to serve in leadership roles. He has served on the Utah Assisted Living Association board of directors since 2004, including two stints as Association president.  Steve is also serving the second of two four year terms on the governor appointed State of Utah Health Facilities Committee, which he has chaired since 2015.

Steve is also a member and past-president of the Provo Rotary Club affiliated with Rotary International.

When Steve is not working he loves to spend time with his family, cook Sunday dinners, run triathlons, play golf, and read good books. He is originally from Southern California. He and his wife Allison, have seven terrific children.

Two things you might not know about Steve are that he is a former LDS Stake President and he ran the decathlon in college at BYU.

Jay Morgan – Administrator

Matt Kriek – Food Services Manager

Matt, our Food Services Manager, works with a great kitchen staff helping the residents at Bel Aire Senior living in American Fork, Utah with their dietary needs.  He provides delicious and tasty meals three times a day every day along with snacks.  He enjoys interacting with the residents at Bel Aire, listening to their concerns and appreciates their compliments.  He always has time for the residents and is willing to go out of his way to make things right.

Matt believes that food can put a smile on your face, a warm feeling in your tummy and can make you have a great day every day. He likes to do things the right way the first time keeping in mind high standards and great quality food.

Matt believes in what he does because of his passion for food.  He studied at UVU in Culinary Arts (AAS Degree) & Hospitality Management (BS degree).  Matt is certified as a chef, chef de cuisine and pastries and was awarded the Beacon award from a previous employer.

Matt has worked with many great people in his life learning a lot from their experiences as well as his own.  His biggest accomplishment and greatest support is his family.  Family is one of his biggest successes in life.

Matt is always willing to listen and communicate with others.  He is always willing to help others when they need it including having an open door policy when it comes to working with others and their families.

Andrea Lewis – Life Enrichment Coordinator

Andrea has worked with seniors in long-term care and assisted living for the past 13 years.  She specifically has worked in Dementia care and behavioral units.  She enjoys working to provide sensory stimulation, memory recall, music, physical activities along with outings and scenic bus adventures.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Leisure Services and Recreation from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington and a Therapeutic Recreation Technician Certification in May 2014.

Andrea enjoys working with people, encouraging positive outcomes and providing opportunities to succeed.  She looks forward to meeting the family members of our residents.  She also enjoys having grandchildren recitals, singing and any other talents families would like to share with all our residents at Bel Aire Senior Living.

Two things you may not know about Andrea is that she served an LDS mission in Hamburg, West Germany and she went on an Alaskan Quilting Cruise completing a 3D quilt.

Andrea is raising four young grandchildren who love to come and visit all of the grandmas and grandpas.  She enjoys connecting people of different generations for their benefit and enjoyment.

Brigitte Hansen – Director of Nursing

Rick Lopez – Maintenance Director

Rick has been doing Maintenance for 28 years. Rick started doing Residential Maintenance Apartment Complex and did that for 5 years.  From here he switched over to Commercial and has really enjoyed the time in Commercial. Commercial work consists of monthly and annual checks of equipment.  While Rick finds this more challenging, he enjoys it very much. Rick has a history in the medical field where he worked as a CNA and got his certificate of completion back in 2003 and worked in the field for three years which he really enjoyed.  Rick feel that is one of my main Reasons he enjoy working at Belair, he enjoys providing good service for our Residents and staff.

John Freeze – Chief Financial Officer

John has 10 years of experience as the CFO of psychiatric hospitals in Missouri, Indiana, and Utah. He was the CFO of 2 large retirement communities in Indiana for over 16 years.

John and his wife Ann moved to Utah in 2010 and they have two daughters and one grandson. They love to spend as much time as possible with their grandson, Frank who is almost 4 years old. Ann teaches Special Education in American Fork.
